Drainage Development Engineer
Permanent - Full Time - (Part Time, Job Share and School Hours Flexibility will all be considered)
Band 5 - $76,910.62 - $89,109.02 + super + RDO (RDO applicable for 38 hours per week only)

The Drainage and Stormwater Unit at Yarra City Council has an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Drainage Development Engineer. You will be joining a team to undertake the following, including (but not limited to):
• Manage day-to-day enquiries relating to all stages of Legal Point of Discharge applications and other referrals related to Council infrastructure. Apply conditions and/or secure drainage contributions as appropriate. Regularly inform relevant staff of progress of projects and other matters of any significance and seek advice where appropriate.
• Ensure that the best possible outcomes are achieved with the integration of new developments and Council’s existing infrastructure.
• Supervising civil works undertaken within the council’s road reserve and assuring that the civil contractors are following their permit conditions and council’s reinstatement standards.
• Ensuring that appropriate action is taken when non-compliant and defective work is produced from the contractors.
• Investigating customer requests and communicating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure Council’s interests and the amenity of its residents are protected.
• Assist in the development of a culture of quality, industry best practice, to provide high quality and timely engineering advice and infrastructure plan checking/approval services, undertaking construction inspections to support Council’s internal teams, developers, contractors, service authorities etc.
• To provide a customer focus that reflects Council as a friendly and professional organization, offering courteous and prompt service.
• Demonstrate leadership in reducing Yarra’s emissions and building a climate resilient future by embedding climate considerations into all of Councils activities.
