As a Product Development Engineer at ARB, specialising in aftermarket 4x4 applications, you will play a crucial role in the designing, developing and improving camper trailer systems and components, with a specific focus on integrating functionality for the demanding 4x4 market.
Day to day you'll be across product design, product vehicle fitments, product testing, building prototypes, creating fitting instructions, reporting writing and product implementation into production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop innovative mechanical systems and components for ARB camper trailers, considering weight distribution, durability, and off-road performance
- Conduct research and analysis to optimize camper trailer design for functionality, efficiency, and user experience in a 4x4 context
- Utilise CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) to create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings
- Perform stress and fatigue analysis to ensure structural integrity of camper trailer components under off-road conditions
- Collaborate with other engineers, designers, and production teams to bring projects from concept to implementation
- Participate in prototyping, testing, and evaluation of new camper trailer designs and components specific to ARB applications
- Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and trends in the camper trailer and 4x4 industries
- Contribute to the development and improvement of engineering standards and practices specific to ARB camper trailers
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, qualifications and attributes:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a mechanical engineering role, preferably within the automotive or recreational vehicle industry
- Experience with 4x4 vehicles and a strong understanding of their unique requirements
- Proven proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or similar)
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
- A passion for the off-road adventure industry and a desire to create innovative solutions
