This large, fast-growing, diverse and established municipality based in Melbourne’s Northern suburbs, is currently seeking a Drainage Development Engineer to provide accurate and efficient information to the public and public authorities and to liaise with developers, relevant departments, and public Authorities regarding civil engineering development work.
Your new role
Reporting to the coordinator, your day-to-day responsibilities will be:
- Assess storm water proposals as part of development applications to ensure their compliance with Council standards, including on-site storm water detention system assessments, outfall drainage design and right of way designs.
- Manage consultants to ensure Council capital works designs are completed in a timely manner and to Council standard.
- Maintain the drainage asset management database frequently after the project closes out.
- Assistance in engineering services, general enquiries, including legal point of discharge enquiries via telephone and, counter on a daily basis.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful person will be a qualified civil engineer, with demonstrated experience and knowledge of the approval process of development works as well as knowledge of regulation and legislation for approvals required to be given by the council.
