About the Role
This is a key role in our company, we are looking for a leader in the industry to work Part time, contract position (10-12 hrs p/w) during school term. Monday - Thursday commencing Term 3, 2024.
Must be available afternoons 3:00 pm - 6:30 pm.
Working closely with the Company Director you would:
- Mentorship through Team Teaching. Provide one-on-one mentoring sessions to our great team of Drama Teachers by rotating around our weekly classes.
- Assist with training of new staff
- Curriculum Development Collaborate with company Director to develop lesson plans and help the team implement lesson plans through team teaching.
- Instructional Support. Observe drama classes and provide constructive feedback and offer strategies for class management and improvement of lesson delivery
- Assist teachers in developing content for end of year show and guide teachers with staging, costume design etc their performance pieces.
- Manage problem students / liaise with parents when necessary and provide teachers with resources and tips to manage their classes.
- Proof read / edit scripts & deliver to classes
- Liaise with teaching staff r.e. sound and lighting (end of year showcase)
Skills and Experience
Must have own car - travelling to a different location each day. Predominantly on north shore of Sydney. See https://www.kidsupfront.com.au for locations.
Bachelor's Degree in Drama, Theatre Education, Performing Arts or related field.
Extensive experience (5+ years) as a Drama Teacher or theatre educator with a proven record of successful teaching and/or mentorship.
Strong knowledge of drama education principles and theatrical techniques.
Excellent communication with the ability to build rapport, provide constructive feedback and inspire others.
Be able to bring out the best in children and teachers.
