The school is expanding its high school offering to include Stage 6 and is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and passionate Secondary English and Drama teacher to work as part of the high school team.
The successful candidate will teach English as required in 7-12, and either Drama or another high school subject.
We are looking for someone with a high degree of motivation and initiative, as well as a positive disposition and an ability to work within a team environment. The successful applicant must be an advocate for young people and youthful opportunities that sit within our philosophies which are based on those of the late Rudolph Steiner.
The Selection Criteria for the role are:
- Qualified Secondary Teacher registered with NESA.
- Approval to teach English and Drama Stage 4, 5 and 6.
- Willingness to teach English and either Drama or another high school subject.
- Willingness to share creative and/or technical skills/interests that cover subject areas otherwise delivered by specialist teachers.
- Either Steiner trained or willingness to undertake Professional Development in Steiner Education.
- An understanding of and commitment towards engaging high school level students and proactively supporting their health and wellbeing.
- Willingness to embrace and participate in the life of the school and the schools’ co-curricular activities.
- Satisfactory Working With Children Check as required under the NSW Commission for Children and Young People Act 1998 and Child Protection (Offenders Registration) Act2000.

The Armidale Waldorf School is an independent school situated in a beautiful bushland setting on the fringe of Armidale City, in the New England Region of NSW. We currently offer programs to children from playgroup to year 10 (year 11 2025) with a Rudolf Steiner philosophy and NESA approved curriculum.
