Your Role If you’re looking for new challenges and adventure outside the everyday, then the Army Reserve has an exciting opportunity for you. As a part-time Driver, you’ll be at the heart of Army operations, contributing to the mass movement of troops, equipment, armoured vehicles, fuel and supplies.
In this driving role, you'll help us maintain the efficiency and effectiveness of our distribution networks. One of the great things about being a Driver in the Army Reserve is the variety of vehicles you’ll get to work with. These include high-performance 4WDs, off road forklifts, trucks, road trains, fuel tankers and tank-carrying transporters.
You may also be trained to drive landing craft and amphibious vehicles. The work and the challenges you’ll encounter make this a really interesting and worthwhile part-time job. This is a great chance to enjoy adventure, make close friendships and receive tax-free pay, all without giving up your current lifestyle.
Just give as little as one night a week, one weekend a month or a few weeks a year – and you’ll get a world of new experiences back. Get Paid The pay you receive in the Army Reserve goes straight into your pocket with no deductions for tax, and it increases as you gain seniority and experience.
On completion of your initial military and employment training, you could earn at least $201/day tax-free. Additional amounts are paid for time spent on exercises and deployments. The only difference is that your commitment is flexible. Initial training length will vary based on your chosen role, after which you will normally be expected to serve between 20 and 100 days per year. This could involve one night a week, one weekend a month or a few weeks a year.
We do our best to make sure this fits in with your work and family commitments; and deployments are voluntary so if you choose to stay local, there are plenty of ways to make a difference closer to home. And with no minimum period of service, you can leave the Army Reserve whenever you like. Apply
