Position Title: Registered Nurse/Clinical Nurse Specialist
This position is funded as a CNS2 level. If you have a post graduate qualification and at least 3 years’ experience working in the Drug & Alcohol sector, you are eligible to apply for the CNS2 grading. If you do not meet the CNS2 criteria, you are still eligible to apply for this position as a Registered Nurse, but with a commitment to undertake the required post graduate qualifications within the next 3 years of being appointed to the position.

The Role
We’re currently looking for casual Drug and Alcohol Registered Nurses/Clinical Nurse Specialists with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Drug & Alcohol services.
The Drug & Alcohol Registered Nurse/Clinical Nurse Specialist will:
- Act as a triage point for any clinical staff requesting access to non-urgent Drug & Alcohol medical officer appointments /clinics.
- Be the first routine point of contact for primary care nurses seeking support with a Drug & Alcohol related issue
- Provide an appropriate standard of care in the assessment and management of Drug & Alcohol withdrawal states; including maintenance pharmacotherapies during intoxication or overdose states
- Conduct Drug & Alcohol clinics/assessments in health centres and also provide clinical interventions via telephone and telehealth as required.
