THE OPPORTUNITY
The Information Services Officer role provides customer service at the Visitor Information Centre, focusing on the provision of accurate information for visitors, investors, new residents and the community.
This role is a 12-month maximum term temporary contract.
DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Respond to web, telephone and face to face enquiries by determining the appropriate response and deliver service required in accordance with established customer service procedures;
- Collate and distribute information such as new resident kits, visitor kits, city guides and investment packs;
- Maintain up to date knowledge of attractions, services and key information;
- Assist in the presentation of the VIC store, including stocking of brochures, souvenirs, stationary and equipment and conduct stock takes as required; and
- Contribute ideas on effectiveness that ensure best practice processes and presentation of the Visitor Information Centre.
ABOUT YOU
You are committed to providing a high level of customer service, and you are flexible, organised and self motivated.
Additionally, you will have excellent communication skills and experience in administration tasks. You are a team player, who continually looks for positive ways to contribute to team culture.
TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE
- Customer service background preferably in the tourism/hospitality industry
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to communicate with people with diverse backgrounds
- Ability to enter data, collate data and produce accurate reports
- Ability to undertake administration tasks including purchasing, sales, banking and mailing
