Poultry Farm Manager

About Us

With a strong history dating back to 1957, our business expanded in 2023 to become Rohde Egg Co. when the Rohde family business acquired a second farm, Blewitt Springs Free Range Eggs, to add to our existing farm Rohde’s Free Range Eggs.

Rohde Egg Co. is a family owned and operated free range egg production, sales and distribution business. We currently produce more than 60,000 eggs daily, that are graded, packaged and distributed from our Tarlee farm to customers across retail and food service segments. 

About the Role

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Coordinate and manage the laying process to ensure maximum egg production and quality. 
• Maintain and enforce strict biosecurity protocols to prevent disease outbreaks and maintain flock health.
• Ensure compliance with animal welfare standards and regulations, prioritising the well-being of birds.
• Lead, motivate and mentor farm staff to achieve operational goals and maintain a positive work environment. 
• Implement quality control measures to uphold product standards and customer satisfaction.
• Undertake preventative and reactive maintenance activities for equipment, facilities and infrastructure. 
• Maintain accurate records of flock management, equipment maintenance and other applicable records.
• Provide reports to management such as weekly production performance.
• Assist with preparation and execution of audits.
• Coordinate product/supply orders and contractors as required.
• Other tasks as directed by Operations or General Managers

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor degree qualification in agriculture or 5+ years relevant experience.
• Experience in poultry husbandry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience supervising and coordinating a small team.
• Exceptional organisation and time management.
• Experience in Microsoft Office, mainly Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Unrestricted Drivers Licence is essential. 
• Forklift Licence and First Aid Certificate preferred. 

Remuneration

• Attractive salary based on experience, plus superannuation.
