The Role:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Duty Manager to be a pivotal part of our Hotel’s opening team. Promising to deliver an unparalleled luxury service to our guests, as a Duty Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of all hotel departments, maintaining exceptional guest satisfaction, and upholding our standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities (but not limited to!):
- Oversee the daily operations of the hotel
- Supervise and support front office, housekeeping, food and beverage, and maintenance teams.
- Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally.
- Ensure adherence to hotel policies and procedures by all staff members.
- Manage room inventory and reservations to maximize occupancy and revenue.
- Monitor and maintain high levels of cleanliness, safety, and hygiene throughout the hotel.
- Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities and equipment, ensuring maintenance and repair needs are promptly addressed.
- Train, mentor, and motivate staff members to provide exceptional service and achieve performance goals.
- Collaborate with other department heads to coordinate activities and resolve operational issues.
- Assist in preparing and managing department budgets and forecasts.
- Uphold the brand standards and contribute to creating a positive work environment.
Now, who are we looking for?
- 2-3 years’ experience as a Duty Manager in a 4-5 star environment
- Tertiary qualifications in Hospitality Management (desirable)
- Experience with hotel booking systems – preferably Opera
- Passion for training and developing strong motivated teams
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
- Commitment with flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays
- Excellent communication, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
- Impeccable grooming and presentation standards
- Experience in training staff - service delivery, service recovery and motivating upselling items across all areas
- First Aid Certificate, RSA and Australian working rights
