The Hervey Bay Boat Club offers our members and guests an exciting venue with various food and beverage outlets, gaming operation including TAB and Keno, events, entertainment as well as marine experiences, in a one-of-a-kind venue overlooking the Great Sandy Straits and K’gari.
With an exciting multi-million dollar renovation completion due August 2024, we are seeking a professional and energetic Duty Manager to join our team. This full time position will be tasked with the smooth day-to-day running of the Club, the support of Senior Management as well as the continued success of the Club post-renovation.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Operational shifts across a 7-day roster.
- Maintaining a sound knowledge of venue products, services, activities, and promotions to ensure the smooth operations of our business with particular attention to the clubs’ policies, procedures and standards.
- Ensuring the club and its staff meet our legal obligations regarding RSA, RSG and WHS and all relevant compliance legislation and regulations.
- Providing support to, and the training of, a team of over 140 staff in conjunction with the HR Manager.
- Applying operational, people, and analytical experience.
- Daily banking and reconciliation tasks.
- Roster and timesheet management.
- Continual compliance associated with running a licensed venue including Gaming compliance is essential.
- Where required, contribute and advise on improved management of club operations, people systems, and processes.
- Setting and monitoring quality service standards.
- Ensuring strong support is provided to members and guests by fulfilling their needs.
- Strong understanding of Club software packages including and not limited to Gaming, POS, Membership and stock control.
The successful applicant will have the following:
- Proven management experience in a Club environment, minimum 2 years.
- Sound knowledge of QLD Liquor & Gaming compliance requirements.
- Excellent food and beverage knowledge.
- High standard of customer service and communication skills.
- Staff organisation and training skills.
- High energy and drive to develop good customer relationships and increase revenue.
- The ability to work 5 days a week including nights, weekends, school holidays and public holidays.
Required qualifications:
- Current RSA
- Current RSG
- Current Food Safety Certificate
- Current RMLV or ability to gain.
- Current Approved Managers Licence or ability to gain.
- National Police Check supplied if successfully appointed.
