Night Duty Manager
No two days at Tangalooma are ever the same, and you will never be bored in this diverse role at one of Australia's most respected resorts.
We have 300 staff that live onsite and work at the Resort that are responsible for services such as electricity, security, sewerage, hotels, apartments, staff accommodation, restaurants, boats, activities, emergency services, sporting facilities, vehicle fleets, construction, maintenance, and (of course) guest services! At all times our staff offer professional hospitality, in all weather and seasons.
Who are we looking for?
- You serve as the Manager on Duty to manage the flow of questions and handles service issues as they arise.
- You will be a self-starter with a can-do attitude. Resort experience in Housekeeping, Maintenance, Food & Beverage preferred. Minimum two years Management experience in hospitality essential.
- You are a problem solver who assesses situations quickly to take decisive actions to solve guest and staff issues
- You possess excellent interpersonal, communication and time management skills
- You are prepared to work predominantly night shifts, must be physically fit and be prepared to always be on the move
- Able to maintain a strong working relationship with all departments to support our operations and goals and to expedite the resolution of any problems that may arise through the general operation of the Resort at night.
- You will communicate any concerns, issues or variations to normal operations to appropriate departments via a nightly report
- You strive to improve service performance and guest experience
- You intervene in any guest/staff situation to ensure the integrity of the resort is maintained, guest satisfaction is achieved and staff welfare is preserved
- Provide immediate assistance to guests as required by responding to and handling guest problems and complaints
What we need you to do in the role
- You will provide assistance to our guests on a range of matters including first aid, basic maintenance issues, porter services, Housekeeping services, and transportation.
- You will be required to constantly liaise and troubleshoot with all departments to ensure guest needs are met. This will include responding to problems and complaints from both guests and staff.
- From time to time you will need to be the primary liaison with emergency services personnel such as police, water police, ambulance service and SES personnel to assist with staff and guest issues.
- Be the first responder in Emergency situations (which includes but is not limited to First Aid callouts, Fire Evacuation or extreme weather response, emergency calls from guests or staff)
- Conduct regular patrols of the resort grounds to ensure all areas are secure.
- Have at least basic understanding of your obligation to Workplace Health and safety
- Prepare nightly reports for senior Management.
- Be On Call overnight and answer any and all incoming calls to the Duty Manager phone during your shift
Qualifications and experience
Please note to be considered for this role, at the time of application you must hold current and valid (or must be prepared to have prior to engagement of employment):
- Senior First Aid and CPR
- QLD Drivers license (manual license preferred)
- QLD Drivers Authorisation (DA)
- QLD RSA certificate minimum. RMLV and Approved Manager highly regarded.
- Must be an Australian Resident and/or have full working rights.
