The Opportunity:

At MEVCO, we seek an LV Fitter to support our fleet of Light Electric Vehicles across Western Australia. As a member of our customer support team, we are looking for someone passionate about engaging with people and dedicated to exceeding customer expectations.

We are the exclusive distributor of Rivian electric vehicles in country. The integration of Rivian's technology with MEVCO's proven track record in mining-specific electric vehicles will allow us to provide a fleet that exceeds the demands of the mining industry while delivering a solution to reduce carbon emissions and foster a safer and healthier environment for mining operations.

If that was not enough, through our partnership with SEA Electric, MEVCO has secured the global leading best of breed solution for the conversion of existing Toyota light commercial fleets from Diesel to Electric. Mining customers will be provided a full solution comprising the vehicles, and all the services required to make the transition to a Toyota EV fleet successful.

You will have the responsibility for diagnosing, repairing, and servicing the Rivian fleet, and our own MEVCO EV 4x4 and 4x2 solutions at some of Australia’s largest mining companies. You will bring your top-notch technical support skills, positive attitude and willingness to think fast, thrive in unpredictable environments, and approach challenges creatively and flexibly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend mining operations to support MEVCO’s fleet of electric vehicles.
  • Customize electric vehicles according to client specifications.
  • Effectively install and integrate aftermarket components into MEVCO's fleet of electric vehicles.
  • Hands-on work, including fabricating custom parts or modifying existing components to fit the vehicle properly, ensuring all components function correctly.
  • Follow rigorous quality control processes to ensure that all modifications meet safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Follow the equipment manufacturer and MEVCO’s repair procedures while upholding quality and safety standards.
  • Conduct road tests to ensure repair quality.
  • Manage parts operations, including ordering, receiving, shipping, and inventory.
  • Develop and maintain operating procedures.
  • Accurately document repairs.
  • Foster teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communicate professionally with customers.
  • Attend mine sites per operation requirements and potentially at short notice.
  • Willing to spend 30 – 35% of their time working on site.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Australian Recognised Light Vehicle Trade Qualification:
  • AUR30620 Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or its equivalent.
  • AUR31120 Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or its equivalent.
  • Proven experience with Toyota vehicles - general service & repairs
  • Mining experience (highly regarded, not essential)
  • 3+ years of experience in an automotive repair shop is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Experience with work order management systems.

  • Proven ability to work effectively as a team member as well as being capable of working autonomously.
  • No driving-related suspensions or revocations in the past 3-5 years.
  • Ability to meet all site access requirements (including, but not limited to, Medical, DAS, NPC & valid Driver's Licence).
  • Dedication to maintaining high safety standards at all times.
  • Availability for a regular 40-hour work week, including weekends and holidays.
