Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Part-Time EAL Tutor/Instructor to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering engaging and effective English language instruction to international students, fostering a positive learning environment, and contributing to the overall success of our ELICOS programs.
Key Responsibilities
Curriculum Delivery
- Plan, prepare, and deliver EAL lessons that cater to diverse language proficiency levels.
- Integrate a variety of teaching methodologies, resources, and technology to enhance the learning experience.
- Design and implement assessments to measure students' progress and achievement.
Student Engagement and Support
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation and collaboration among students.
- Provide constructive feedback on students' language proficiency, both written and verbal.
- Offer additional support to students who may require assistance with language development.
Professional Development
- Stay current with trends and best practices in EAL teaching.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with colleagues to share insights and contribute to a collaborative teaching community.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, assessments, and other relevant data.
- Attend staff meetings and actively participate in the ELICOS centre's community.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (3 years minimum).
- Recognized English language teaching certification (e.g., CELTA, TESOL, TEFL).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in EAL teaching, preferably in an ELICOS setting.
- Demonstrated ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans for diverse learner backgrounds.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
