About the role:
The role of Early Childhood Educator - Room Leader is to promote and support the holistic wellbeing and development inclusive of all children. All key responsibilities are based on the National Law and Regulations, the Principles, Practices and Outcomes detailed in the EYLF, and the NQF Quality Areas, Standards and Elements. All educators are expected to have a working knowledge of these documents, which should underpin their pedagogy and, together with the Centre philosophy, directly reflect their relationships with children, families and co-educators.
About the Centre:
Saranna Early Childhood Education and Care Centre (SECECC) is a unique service situated on the 32-acre property of the Rick Hammersley Centre Therapeutic Community in Cullacabardee (10 minutes from Ellenbrook). With a qualified team of workers, SECECC encourages every child to grow, learn and develop at their own pace. Our educational programs provide supportive, active learning through flexible play with a focus on building the strengths of individual children.
Position is full-time working 76 hours per fortnight. (part-time hours maybe considered)
Essential competencies and experience
- Diploma qualification in Early Childhood Education.
- Demonstrated experience working as a Room Leader within a Childcare and Early Learning environment.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework, and the National Quality Framework for childcare and early learning.
- Experience in curriculum planning and implementation.
- Sound interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to relate well to children and their parents.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience and the ability to support and mentor room educators.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to be open and responsive and to work in a team environment.
- Current Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificate, First Aid Certificate, current WWC, National Police Clearance and full work rights.
