About Torrensville Community Childcare Centre
We are a community of educators who are committed to developing each child’s full potential by providing high quality care and individually tailored education for children from birth to school age. As an incorporated, not-for-profit organisation, we reinvest all surplus funds into the centre to benefit the children. Torrensville Community Childcare Centre (TCCC) is a social enterprise of UCWB a well-known not for profit organisation, which means that any profits generated by the services we provide go back into services which benefit the community.
About the Role
The Early Childhood Teacher is responsible for developing and evaluating an appropriate Pre-school program for individual children or groups in their final year before formal schooling.
Specifically, the role supports the provision of high-quality education by:
- designing, planning, implementing and evaluating educational programs and practices, including following and implementing an approved learning framework
- leading and supporting the health, wellbeing, learning and development of children
- coaching, mentoring and supervising staff
- building and maintaining strong relationships with children and their families
- ensuring compliance with service policies and national and/or state based legislation
- supporting families to be involved in the service
- leading the delivery of National Quality Standard requirements
- working with community members and external agencies, and
- leading and managing a variety of education and care services
- Following Centre Policy and approaching behaviour guidance positively with children
About You
You are a dynamic and enthusiastic educator who is passionate about early learning. Your positive interaction skills with children and demonstrated ability to support children’s learning will be what help you succeed in this role.
You will have:
- Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (minimum 4 year qualification or equivalent as recognised by ACECQA)
- Current Teacher’s Registration
- Current First Aid and CPR qualifications (or willingness to obtain in first 6 months of employment)
- Proven experience planning and implementing pre-school education programs in an early learning environment
- Proven ability to interact with children in a positive, sensitive and respectful manner
- Leading and supporting educators
- Knowledge of current childcare practices and the Early Years Learning Framework
- Knowledge of Licensing Regulations under the relevant Act
- Knowledge of maintenance of health and safety of children in care
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Current DHS Working With Children Check or ability to obtain one at your own cost
- Successful completion of relevant responding to abuse and neglect training (RRHAN-EC Certificate)
- Appropriate skills, knowledge and training in food safety and hygienic handling of food and equipment as required under the Food Safety Legislation 2001
