Boundary Lane Children’s Centre is a vibrant not-for-profit community-based Long Day Care Service in the heart of Newtown. We educate and care for up to 62 children from birth to five years. Our team of highly qualified and dedicated Teachers and Educators are from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and maintain strong links with our families and the local community, including the University of Sydney. We provide an equitable, affordable, high-quality service that recognises the importance of diversity and inclusive practices. The Centre has always been assessed as Exceeding.
The role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and pro-active Early Childhood Teacher to join our team on a permanent basis. The Centre rotates the Educational Leader role between the Teachers on annual or biannual basis.
Essential qualification requirements for the role:
- Bachelor of Education or Master of Teaching
- Current approved Working with Children Check
- Current Child Protection Training
- Current First Aid certificate
Essential attributes for the role:
- Knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Framework and National Law and Regulations
- Knowledge and relevant skills in the planning cycle, documenting children's learning, planning and implementing a quality educational curriculum
- Able to lead and work in a passionate, committed, diverse, and highly driven team
- Ability to form and maintain professional relationships with children, families, and other educators
- Basic technology experience - PC and iPads
