St Ives Preschool Kindergarten is a not for profit community preschool, situated in a beautiful natural setting with a strong focus on the value of children, families and the community.
An opportunity exists for an experienced Early Childhood Teacher (minimum 3 years ) to join our collaborative, passionate and committed preschool team.
The position is Part Time, 2 days per week, Thursday and Friday, 8am - 4pm, commencing Term 3, 2024.
The successful applicant will work as the room leader with at least one trained Educator, and be responsible for providing a creative and stimulating programme that is responsive to children's ideas, interests, strengths and abilities.
The successful applicant must have:
- ACECQA approved Early Childhood teaching degree and be accredited with the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
- Current WWCC.
- ACECQA approved First Aid and Emergency management of Asthma and Anaphylaxis training.
- Approved Child protection training.
- Willingness to be appointed as a Responsible Person.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated computer skills.
- A commitment to working in a team environment as well as the capacity to work independently.
- The ability to form warm, responsive relationships with children and families.
- Demonstrated ability to document children's learning and implement an engaging preschool programme, including transition to school.
- Demonstrated understanding of the EYLF, NQF and NQS.
- Initiative, a positive attitude and strong leadership characteristics.
- Excellent management skills and the ability to run a room.
- Experience in planning for, and working with children with high learning support needs in an inclusive setting, would be an advantage.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Willingness to participate in Preschool community events outside working hours.
- Flexibility to be available to replace teachers on other days, if needed, would be an advantage.
- Previous experience teaching in a community based preschool preferred.
- Must have permanent rights to work in Australia with no restrictions.
St Ives Preschool Kindergarten has an Employee Collective Agreement from which conditions and salary apply. Salary rates are above the Modern Award.
