We are seeking experienced, qualified and self-motivated candidates that can demonstrate experience working collaboratively with children and families in their communities to identify strengths, mitigate risk factors, increase capacity for resilience and promote positive relationships.
We have two part time opportunities available. Hours and days of work are flexible ranging from 15 to 28 hours per week, negotiable to suit the right applicants. This position is covered by the SCHADS award Level 4, with fringe benefit salary packaging offered to increase your take home pay.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Early Intervention Family Caseworker provides case management services with families to build on strengths and enhance the well-being of all family members and is responsible for;
- being an advocate providing practical and targeted support
- offering specialised knowledge and skills concerning family and child issues
- facilitate families’ ongoing access to advice, information and resources
- enable parents to develop and build on the skills they need in order to be advocates for themselves and their children
- providing avenues for families to contribute to the life and development of their community
Working collaboratively with other team members, this role uses one-on-one interventions with families through home visiting and community work in achieving positive outcomes. Suitable applicants will possess skills and understanding of the issues related to families, children and young people in the areas of family functioning, parent/child relationships, parenting skill development, child development and the effects of trauma.
Family case work involves the provision of timely advice, information and referral across a variety of areas of focus in addition to promoting the development of competencies and capabilities that enable families to build resilience, access resources and supports that enable all families the choice to meet their social, cultural and economic needs.
Family caseworkers conduct family risk and protective assessments to determine issues impacting upon the functioning of the family and work through and Early Intervention framework to establish plans and set family cantered goals.
The role also provides Course work facilitation, with the delivery of evidence based and informal group work programs with a focus on parenting education and skill building. Some informal peer support group work facilitation is also a function of this role.
