About the Role:The Child, Youth & Family Caseworker is responsible for providing early intervention support services to Aboriginal children, young people, families, and communities.The key objectives of the role include: Families, children, and young people’s needs are met early to prevent escalation of vulnerabilities and reduce the risk of Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) involvement and out-of-home placements. Families are able to access support early in the lives of their children and young people to strengthen protective factors and support sustained care of their children. Risk factors that led to child abuse, neglect and domestic and Family violence are addressed early by providing Aboriginal children, young people, families, and communities access to timely, effective, accessible, and culturally safe support services. Research, plan, conduct and evaluate Community Connection events designed to improve community connectedness and provide opportunities for Indigenous Social Participation.
