  • Salary range $99,000 - $111,000 (incl Super) based on experience and skill development.
  • Join an experienced multidisciplinary team of professionals, providing evidence-based capacity-building and therapeutic supports directly to children on the autism spectrum, with a developmental delay, ADHD and Fragile X.
  • Work alongside a high functioning team who delivers the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) and receive your own on-going Professional Development in the ESDM to enhance your speech pathology practice with young children.
  • Receive regular internal and external Professional Development opportunities including designing your own Professional Development Plan to meet your specific learning goals.

Child Development Institute are currently looking for a Speech and Language Pathologist with interest and experience in Paediatrics to join their multi-disciplinary Autism specific Early Intervention team in Northmead, Western Sydney. 


Our children have complex communication needs and are typically developmentally diverse. Through low, mid, and high-tech strategies and equipment, our team works to give them a voice.

  

The Child Development Institute is an AUTISM SPECIFIC Early Intervention centre for children aged 1 – 6 years. They deliver the Early Start Denver Model, an evidence-based multi-disciplinary intervention specifically developed for young children with autism. It is recognised worldwide as the number one naturalistic intervention for young children with autism to develop speech, language, social skills, and cognition, and has many research studies and clinical trials to demonstrate its effectiveness.

  
About the Role: 
  • Manage your own caseload with dedicated time for case consultation and administration.
  • Deliver Speech and Language therapy across a range of 1:1 and group programs to children and families.
  • Receive ongoing professional training to deliver therapy using ESDM strategies to enhance your practice as a speech pathologist, act as an advocate for multi-modal communication and teach children and their families to use AAC devices.
  • Lead the assessment, solution matching and implementation of the communication strategy across multiple environments.
  • Coach and mentor other members of the multi-disciplinary team in the implementation of individualised AAC solutions within clinics and group programs.
  • Receive ongoing learning from other Allied Health disciplines and Special Education Teachers within the team

  • High level written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills including the ability to build strong rapport with children and their families.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
You will require: 
  • A tertiary degree in Speech Pathology.
  • Current Speech Pathology Australia membership.
  • Proficiency with a range of technology, including using databases, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the capacity to develop skills in telehealth applications.
  • A NSW Working With Children Check and National Police Check.
  • A current first aid certificate, including Asthma, Anaphylaxis and CPR certification or be willing to obtain this.
