Qualifications:- A Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) or equivalent
- Registration with Speech Pathology Australia
- Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist (CPSP) status
- Current Drivers License.
- Current Worker Screening.
- Current CPR / First Aid Certificate.
- New Worker NDIS Induction Module
- Ability to register for a Medicare Provider number.
Experience:
- Demonstrated Continuing Professional Development.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload efficiently and effectively.
- Experience delivering therapy services to children, young people and adults.
- Knowledge of continuous quality improvement principles
- Previous NDIS related experience (desirable).
Skills:
- Excellent coaching, verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong time management and ability to prioritise.
- Intermediate PC skills, specifically in Windows and Microsoft Office (Word and Email).
- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain good working relationships.
- Strong understanding of speech-related conditions, causes, and treatments.
- Knowledge of legal rights, procedures, and participant supports to raise issues and make formal complaints
- Knowledge of government agencies and advocacy organisations that provide advice and support to participants on service quality issues.
- Procedures to initiate plan reviews.
- How to record and use data to establish baseline and track changes in participant health and wellbeing.
- Incident response and reporting procedures and protocols to ensure the participant's safety, self, and others.
- Techniques and communication skills to record observations, take notes and prepare reports that provide objective information free of judgements or assumptions.
- Ability to work independently
- Infection prevention and control, including personal protective equipment (PPE) and waste handling practices.
- The principles and processes of the NDIS, such as the steps and support required for a participant to access, use and review their plans, and where to find further information
- Reflective practices and processes
- Working within current best practice tools, approaches and expectations about disability and related support.
- Strategies and tools to manage work stress and manage personal wellness.
