Join our dedicated team as an Early Childhood Co-Educator (Educational Assistant) and help us create a foundation of curiosity, confidence, and compassion in the hearts and minds of our young learners. Your primary responsibility will be providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for our children to thrive academically, emotionally and socially. As a Co-Educator you will support our pre-school children through our Early Learning Program, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm during term time only. There is also the opportunity to assist in Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) and Vacation Care Programmes. We have casual and permanent opportunities.

Based at the Junior Campus, and reporting to our Educational Leader, and the Head of the Junior Campus, the Co-Educator assists in the delivery of educational programmes and services to our children. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Assist in planning, implementing and reviewing our educational programmes. 
  • Promote the health and safety of all staff and children. 
  • Build positive relationships with children, colleagues, parents and wider community. 
  • Contribute to the effective management of our Service and the School. 

Applicants will have: 

  • Minimum requirement Certificate III in Children Services (or working towards). 
  • Experience in providing quality education and care for children and young people
  • Experience and ability to establish warm, nurturing and responsive relationships with children
  • A passion for improving learning outcomes for children and young people.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the specific academic, social and pastoral needs of students and a particular enthusiasm for working with young children. 
  • An understanding and commitment to the School’s policies in relation to Child Safety – Australian Childhood Foundation (ACF) Certificate 
  • Current/valid Working with Vulnerable People Card (WWVP) 
  • National Police Check 
  • Current HLTAID012 First Aid qualification in an Education and Care Setting. 
  • Knowledge of the National Quality Standards, the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010 and the Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011.

Remuneration will be in accordance with the Launceston Church Grammar School (General Staff) Enterprise Agreement.
