About the Opportunity

The Eating Disorder Coordinator will work to facilitate a new project supported by the National Eating Disorders Collaboration, in conjunction with the Department of Health & Aged Care. This project will address practical barriers and strengthen enablers for people experiencing Eating Disorders to access effective evidence-based treatment through primary care providers.

You will work to ensure the most effective use of existing resources in the Northern Territory through partnerships, training and strengthening existing health pathways to care.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Relevant qualification within health profession (Social Work, Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Registered Nurse)
  • A proven understanding of the Australian primary health care system and understanding of person-centered care approached.
  • Demonstrated understanding of both mental and medical health as related to Eating Disorders, and a knowledge of best practice approaches to Eating Disorder Treatments.
  • Prior experience or, at a minimum, demonstrated commitment to working respectfully with Indigenous and culturally and linguistically diverse clients, communities, staff, and Aboriginal controlled organisations.
