As our Edge Facilities Manager you will be responsible for the effective management of the day-to-day operations at our Edge Facility. This will include managing facility staff and contractors, overseeing maintenance and ensuring quality delivery of both NEXTDC and contracting services to our customers.
What you'll do:
- Overseeing the maintenance, operation and presentation of the facility including all critical facility systems
- Managing the capital and operational budgets of your facility to ensure the critical plant is maintained at optimum efficiency
- Providing best practice installation for infrastructure supporting customer equipment, e.g. Structured Cabling, Interconnectivity services (e.g. Cross Connects), Power monitoring, Rack locking, Temp and Humidity monitoring where applicable.
- Facilitating installation of customer equipment and ensure requirements and expectations are met
- Facilitate carrier service installations
- Ensuring that facility problems are identified and resolved in a timely manner
- Recruit, lead, manage and develop facility staff and/or 3rd party FM support vendors to be highly engaged and successful in their roles.
- Ensure that all incidents (operational, security, WHS) within the data centre are accurately reported and in a timely manner in compliance with NEXTDC policy

Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of all aspects of data centres including electrical and mechanical configurations, rack management, design and installation
- Understanding of high-density data centre power, cooling approaches and technologies
- Extensive knowledge of cabling & cable management and quality inspection / assurance
- Knowledge of various codes and applicable regulations
- A customer first attitude
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of BMS and other computer-based building service systems
- Exceptional planning, organising and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication and effective interpersonal skills
What you'll bring
- 5 years' experience in data centre facilities or similar preferred
- Familiarity in UTI (Uptime Institute) Standards
- Degree in Engineering/Business/Electrical or Mechanical trade background or similar
