Overview of the role:The Education Advisor will conduct extensive educational research, revise and/or create English and vocational course curricula, and design custom teaching and learning materials specifically for MEGA’s courses. Furthermore, they will evaluate teachers' performance and analyse the results of curriculum initiatives implemented within MEGA’s educational setting.
Key duties and responsibilities:- Interacting with Academic Managers, Teachers, Trainers, Chief Executive Officer, Campus Director and administrative staff in MEGA to synchronise educational programs and offer guidance.
- Collaborate with academic staff to identify and address student needs, including academic tutoring, study skills development, and exam preparation.
- Conducting extensive research into the international student educational systems to identify and assess advancements in English and vocational education.
- Participating in external professional development workshops and MEGA’s Continuous Improvement Committee to identify current and future requirements within the Australian international student educational framework, strategising, refining campus facilities, and learning programs accordingly.
- Documenting developed units and courses and assessing newly introduced English and vocational courses.
- Organising and conducting workshops and meetings to train MEGA’s Teachers and Trainers in novel programs and methodologies.
- Devise plans and budgets to improve MEGA’s learning processes and educational structures to devise operational and training schemes.
- Provide comprehensive guidance and recommendations to MEGA’s Senior Management Team on matters related to academic programs, course selection, study pathways, and career opportunities.
- Conduct class observations, assess students’ and teachers’ quarterly evaluation forms, and evaluate other surveys or reports (e.g. ASQA, NEAS or English Australia reports) relating to teaching.
- Engaging with Chief Executive Officer to document MEGA’s performance, student welfare, and teacher effectiveness.
- Proposing enhancements to educational facilities, equipment, infrastructure, and personnel to maintain high educational standards.
- Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, including the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act and the National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students.
- Bachelor’s degree in education, counselling, international relations, or related field.
- Experience working in the Australian international student education sector
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
