About the Role
The Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning seeks to appoint an Education Fellow in Construction. With the support of senior academic staff, this role will develop expertise in construction, working both independently and as part of a team. The Fellow will engage in professional development, adopt evidence-informed teaching practices, and teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels. While focusing on construction, the position encourages curiosity and expertise in various areas, including connecting industry trends with historical contexts, discussing procurement methods, understanding project management theories, and possessing knowledge of structural design and construction materials. The Fellow plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between construction management and structural design.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Active contribution to teaching delivery of subjects in the construction program
  • Support the development and evaluation of curriculum and educational resources as required
  • Direct involvement in student assessment, whilst maintaining the highest standards in assessment and student feedback
  • Contribute to scholarly presentations and publications or other relevant outputs
Who We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate for this role is a dedicated and collaborative educator with strong communication skills, a passion for landscape architecture, and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, contributing to student learning and program development with a focus on continuous improvement.
You will also have:
  • A PhD, or near completion in the relevant discipline, or a Masters with relevant experience in practice.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience within the discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and deliver University teaching and learning materials in construction, face to face (and online where relevant) using a range of teaching methods across various class sizes.

About - Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning
The Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning is the leading educational and research institution in the Asia-Pacific region addressing the design and realisation of environments. It actively seeks to extend the linkages between education, research and practice in the built environment, and maintains excellent and extensive relationships with members of the built environment professions, government, professional associations and the wider community.
The Faculty has over 200 staff and 3000 students, one third of whom are international. It is responsible for the undergraduate Bachelor of Design degree, and offers majors in architecture, landscape architecture, property, construction, and urban planning.
The Faculty's graduate school, the Melbourne School of Design (MSD), teaches accredited masters courses across the professional disciplines of Architecture, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, Property, Urban Design and Urban Planning.
