Full time fixed term opportunity until July 2025Opportunity to provide a broad range of education administrative and operational support to academic and teaching staff to meet the educational (teaching and curriculum) support needs of the facultyBase Salary starting from $95,860 + 17% superannuationAbout the opportunityWe are in an exciting period in the Faculty of Medicine and Health, and as we work to deliver on the university's ambitious strategic plan, we are looking for an Education/indigenous Support Officer to join the education unit within the School of Public Health.The successful applicant will be working within the Sydney School of Public Health to deliver support for the Graduate Diploma of Indigenous Health Promotion, a bespoke health promotion program that has delivered over 200 graduates and boasts a full complement of Indigenous academic staff. The successful applicant is expected to exercise a degree of initiative and judgment in planning work activities and resolving problems associated with day-to-day operating procedures directly linked to their key accountabilitiesThis role will be embedded in the School of Public Health, located in the Edward Ford Building on the Camperdown campus.Your key responsibilities will be to:Coordinate the compilation of academic content and materials prepared by academic and teaching staff for programs of study in indigenous health for printed publications and/or uploading to Canvas/online systemsprovide cultural and pastoral support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander studentssupport Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to navigate university systems and processesprovide education support services in line with academic requirements and the overall timetable for the work areaensure compliance with relevant legislative and regulatory controls and ensures a safe working environment for all staff and studentsprovide specialised student support and pastoral care and provide logistical support for student travel, allowances and accommodation and facilitate collaborative arrangements with the various Indigenous support Units across the Universityprovide a broad range of education (learning and curriculum) support for the work area and its academic and teaching staff.About youStrong problem-solving and exceptional organisational skills with the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgment, along with the ability to prioritise workload during busy periodsbe extremely fluid-like, adaptable, and agile to support different work areas of the facultyhighly developed, nuanced interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including internal and external customers and suppliers, and University studentsskilled in using various software systems – e.g.- Microsoft suite, TRIM, Zoom, Sydney curriculum, Canvas ( Desirable)relevant work experience in a business administrative role- preferably in a tertiary education environment (Desirable)demonstrated client focus with strong stakeholder engagement capability to enable the delivery of successful outcomes.To keep our community safe, please be aware of our which form our conditions of entry for all staff, students and visitors coming to campus.Sponsorship / work rights for AustraliaPlease note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
