THE OPPORTUNITY
Salary: $118,182 per annum pro rata + 11% superannuation and annual leave loading.
Time Fraction: Full time, 1.0 EFT.
Location: Chadstone Campus
WWCC: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining and maintaining an ‘employee’ Working with Children Check.
Position Status: Ongoing contract of Employment, with a 6-month qualifying period.
The Centre of Cyber Security and Digital Information Technology provides a progressive, innovative, and supportive teaching environment with strong industry links. The department is seeking to appoint an individual with strong industry experience in Information Technology and management experience in vocational education to the role of Education Manager.
The Education Manager reports directly to the Head of Department and works closely with other Education Managers in the Centre to coordinate the delivery of Cyber Security and Digital Information Technology courses at the Chadstone campus.
The Education Manager is responsible for managing and supervising staff, overseeing the day-to-day operations of programs, and ensuring a quality learning experience for students enrolled in Cyber Security and IT programs at the Chadstone campus.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate efficient business practices, have in depth knowledge and experience in managing and monitoring program compliance to Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) standards and have experience in managing a teaching team within a vocational education and training environment.
ABOUT YOU
- Highly developed interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
- Proven educational leadership and management skills regarding planning and delivery of vocational programs.
- Significant experience working as an educator in the vocational training sector.
- Current industry experience working in Cyber Security and/or Information Technology
- An approved degree or diploma in Cyber Security and/or Information Technology
- An approved course of adult teacher training accredited at Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Level 6 or above with:
- studies in adult learning methodology
- studies in teaching in a Vocational Education environment
- studies in Applied Research (linked to the Boyer framework of scholarship)
- 200 hours of supervised teaching practice.
