Position Overview:
The Educational Leader at Honour Early Learning will play a crucial role in guiding and mentoring our team of lead educators. This position is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs to ensure they meet high standards of quality and align with the centre’s educational philosophy. The Educational Leader will foster a collaborative environment, promoting best practices in early childhood education and supporting the continuous professional growth of our educators.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development and Implementation:
- Lead the development and implementation of educational programs that are engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate.
- Ensure that programs align with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and other relevant curriculum standards.
- Oversee the planning and documentation of educational activities by lead educators.
Mentorship and Professional Development:
- Provide ongoing mentorship and support to lead educators, encouraging reflective practice and professional growth.
- Facilitate regular professional development sessions and training workshops.
- Model best practices in early childhood education and leadership.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of educational programs and practices.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and policies.
- Conduct regular audits of program documentation and classroom environments.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Foster a collaborative team culture, promoting open communication and shared learning.
- Engage with families and the community to build strong, positive relationships and ensure their involvement in the educational process.
- Work closely with the Centre Director and other staff to support the centre’s goals and objectives.
Leadership and Advocacy:
- Advocate for the importance of high-quality early childhood education within the centre and the broader community.
- Lead initiatives that enhance the educational experiences of children and support the professional development of staff.
- Stay current with industry trends and research, integrating new knowledge into the centre’s practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Significant experience in an Educational Leadership role within an early childhood setting.
- In-depth knowledge of early childhood development and curriculum frameworks (e.g., EYLF).
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire, mentor, and support a team of educators.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with industry trends.
- Proficiency in program planning and documentation.
