JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES -
We expect that as a professional you will spend most of your time actively and physically leading your teams on the ground - we don't lead from offices at Sonas, we are present with our people, guiding their practice and pedagogy in real-time. Accordingly, under the guidance of an experienced Senior Centre Manager, as a Sonas EL/ Assistant Centre Manager you will:
- Lead teams to create innovative and exciting learning programs for children in family-grouping settings based on children's interests, strengths, and abilities.
- Build strong, professional, and genuine relationships with children and their families, to best support family participation in our program and build trust between the service and our clients.
- Build strong, professional, and genuine relationships with your team, your colleagues, and your management
- Lead and mentor educators, trainees, and other employees in all aspects of high-quality education and care and best practice
- Actively participate in team events to promote cohesiveness and strong team culture.
- Create an effective quality improvement plan to work with your team and management.
- Continue your learning journey through professional development and training.
- Create effective relationships within the leadership team and contribute to a culture of inclusiveness, sharing, and support
This is a higher duties role - you will be directly responsible for all service outcomes, under the guidance of a Senior Centre Manager, who manages three sites. The role offers a safe environment to practice your leadership skills in a supportive no-blame environment, with enough autonomy to make decisions without micromanaging.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE -
As a Sonas Assistant Center Manager (focused on practice leadership) you will need to:
- Hold an Early Childhood Teaching Qualification, a Diploma of Children's Services, or an equivalent EARLY CHILDHOOD QUALIFICATION.
- Hold a current First Aid qualification, including Asthma and Anaphylaxis.
- Be familiar with the "Family-Grouping " or "Mixed-aged Grouping" Approaches.
- Be committed to implementing these approaches and leading teams to implement them
- Be committed to leading teams to implement these approaches successfully
- Experience with managing conflict effectively for positive outcomes.
- Experience with dealing with feedback and complaints appropriately and promptly.
- Experience with conducting incident reviews.
- Be prepared to agree to become a “Responsible Person” and “Nominated Supervisor”.
