The Centre
A beautiful privately-owned early childhood centre located in Merewether in Newcastle is seeking a permanent part-time Educational Leader to join their wonderful team. This purpose-built centre offers modern outdoor and indoor learning environments that encourage children to explore, discover and learn. Operating between the hours of 7.00am - 6.00pm, this family-owned centre provides tailored programs that foster each individual child’s development and learning outcomes in line with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). This provider ensures an inclusive and welcoming environment where partnerships with families and the community play a vital role in children’s learning in the Early Years setting. This Educational Leader position within a well-established centre is a fantastic opportunity for a Diploma Educator or Early Childhood Teacher (or actively studying towards) to collaboratively guide and support a dedicated team of Early Childhood professionals to deliver high quality educational experiences for children aged 0-5 years.
The Role
Permanent part-time position 37.5 hours, five days per week availability preferred
Design and implement high-quality learning programs leading to successful learning outcomes for children
Have an understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standards, knowledge of child development and relevant theorists, teaching strategies, and styles
Maintain an inclusive and supportive learning environment that fosters children’s individual interests, strengths and needs
Collaborate with colleagues to plan, evaluate and enhance their individual practice, and knowledge to achieve positive learning outcomes for children
Support children’s individual interests, needs and wellbeing by establishing meaningful relationships with parents, and the community
Utilise a range of assessment strategies to assess and reflect on children’s learning whilst maintaining pedagogical documentation of a high quality

About You
A Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care or An Early Childhood Education Degree (or working towards or ACECQA-approved equivalent)
A current Working with Children’s Check
Current first-aid certificate (including asthma and anaphylactic training) or willing to obtain
Previous leadership experience highly desirable
