Skills and qualifications required:
- Diploma of Early Childhood Education, Graduate Diploma, Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, or Masters qualified
- Working with Children Check (Employee)
- First AID/CPR
- Responding to abuse and neglect (training)
- Organised and detail orientated
- Initiative and integrity a must
- Team player
- Enthusiastic
- Montessori qualifications or experience highly desirable
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist room leaders with adding families/staff to tapestry
- Three days in ratio (22.5 hours - rotating across all rooms over the fortnight): Montessori modelling for educators – overview of Montessori practises, checklists etc, modelling children interaction (particularly for children with additional needs), cover planning/programming of the educators in the room
- Two days off the floor:
- Checking the plans and programs are suitable and up to date
- Reading through and approving the ‘Montessori Report’ for each room
- Oversight over the fortnightly program and observations:
- Ensuring each room adheres to the AMIGA yearly topics calendar and that appropriate resources have been ordered
- Ensure each room’s program and plan is up to date
- Ensure observations are being carried out in accordance with the AMIGA Observation policy
- Assist in the preparation and execution of inclusions and excursions
- Communication with parents on Montessori and the program
- Assisting in scheduling all parent: teacher interviews
- Assisting CM/2iC in preparation of all centre events
