Reporting to the Service Coordinator you will be a valued contributor to the OSHC experience of young people who attend our service at Star of the Sea Outside School Hours Care based at Torquay. You will be involved in creating a fun, engaging and interactive program for school aged children. You will be supported to contribute your unique ideas to continuously improve our program of activities and provide a safe and supportive environment for the children attending.
This opportunity is for someone who has a Diploma, as we are wanting to train you into being our responsible person in charge.
With a capacity for up to 59 children, the position is for Before School, After School, and Vacation Care programs. Our tight-knit team thrives on collaboration and support, fostering a nurturing environment for both staff and children alike. For suitable candidate, there's potential to work in our additional Catholic Early Edcare centres spread throughout the Fraser Coast region.
Hourly rate: Level 1.1 $24.13 to 3.4 $30.07, based on qualifications and experience.
Job Requirements:
- Be eligible to work in Australia.
- Minimum Diploma or studying towards a qualification in an area relevant to working with young people (highly desirable)
- Hold a current Queensland Blue Card (Working with Children Check)
- First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificate

- Gain practical hands-on experience while studying your bachelor’s degree. There are 8 areas of study that are approved as relevant qualifications for working with school-age children, for example early childhood education and care qualification, behavioural science, community services, creative arts/ fine arts/ drama or music, nursing/ physiotherapy/ occupational therapy/ diversional therapy or speech pathology, primary/ secondary or special education, sport and recreation and human welfare studies and services.
