About the role
UGL are currently seeking a suitably qualified E&I Field Engineer to oversee the Electrical and Instrumentation aspects of a brownfields construction project in Darwin, Northern Territory. The project will commence in March 2024, with an estimated 9–12-month duration. You will be a local Darwin resident and work a 5/2 roster, or work a 19/9 fly in fly out roster.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of the project, meeting quality standards, safety regulations, and project timelines.
Key responsibility areas
Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with project managers, designers, and other engineers to develop and implement E&I designs and solutions.
2. Provide technical expertise and support during the construction phase, ensuring adherence to project specifications, codes, and standards.
3. Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical and instrumentation systems on-site.
4. Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality control and compliance with safety regulations.
5. Troubleshoot and resolve any E&I-related issues that may arise during construction.
6. Work closely with subcontractors and vendors to coordinate the delivery of materials and equipment.
7. Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and test reports.
8. Collaborate with the project team to develop and implement effective project schedules and timelines.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field.
2. Proven experience as an E&I Field Engineer in brownfields construction projects.
3. Strong knowledge of electrical and instrumentation systems, codes, and standards.
4. Familiarity with construction management software and tools.
5. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
7. Willingness to travel and work on-site as required.
