Braemar Power Station:
Braemar is a 560 MW power station located 35km southwest of Dalby in Southern Queensland. Braemar Power Station is an open-cycle gas turbine plant, which provides both peak and shoulder power. Braemar Power Station is strategically located adjacent to Queensland's CSG fields, with a dedicated pipeline to nearby gas fields. Alinta Energy also owns 150km gas pipeline and compression facility between Condamine and Tipton, which is connected to Brisbane-Roma pipeline and supplies the Braemar Power Station.
About the role:
An exciting opportunity has become available at our Braemar Power Station for an Electrical Operations & Maintenance technician. The primary purpose of the role is to assist with the safe operations and maintenance of the power station. As the successful applicant, you will support the delivery of the annual maintenance work plan and capital projects to safely maximise reliability and availability of the plant. The role demands a strong focus on teamwork to achieve required outcomes and meet efficiency, production, and cost targets.
In this role, you’ll be:
Always ensuring the safety of yourself and others by following the AlintaSafe Strategic model.
Contribute to the continuous development of the annual work plan, then support the execution of the plan.
Maintain and operate equipment in accordance with the Annual Work Plan to ensure the capacity, availability, and reliability of generating plant.
Isolate plant and equipment, issue Permit to Work’s, as required by Maintenance Schedule or plant requirements.
Ensure all maintenance data is recorded and available for analysis, writing reports and other correspondence.
Contribute to the cost effective and efficient operations of plant and equipment.
Ideally, you’ll bring to the role:
QLD electrical licence
Cert III instrumentation or equivalent highly desirable
EEHA (Electrical Equipment in Hazardous Areas) certification
PLC experience and High voltage (HV) Networks, switching and maintenance experience desirable.
Demonstrated ability to perform detailed fault-finding on complex machinery / systems.
Power Generation experience, Gas Turbine and Industrial Rotating Equipment experience desirable.
This is a great opportunity for an Electrical Operation & Maintenance Technician to join our Braemar Power Station. You will be given the opportunity to develop skills in a range of areas, day to day coordination, project management and prioritisation.
