Hudson has partnered with a government national body seeking the services of multiple experienced EL 1 Policy Analysts. As an EL1 Policy Analyst, you will play a vital role in shaping national policy on work health and safety (WHS) and workers' compensation in Australia.If you are looking for a long-term non-ongoing contract or a S26 transfer and are based in Canberra, this may be the role for you!
Duties:
- Operate under broad direction and manage staff to deliver on complex policy matters.
- Lead and build capability in a small team of APS level staff.
- Develop high quality, evidence-based policy advice to address complex and emerging WHS and workers' compensation policy issues
- Demonstrate high level written and oral communication skills.
- Develop and maintain constructive relationships with key stakeholders
Roles Available in the Sections Below:
- The Chemicals Policy section is responsible for the development of national policy to protect Australian workers from harmful exposure to hazardous chemicals.
- The High Risk Work and Industries Policy section develops guidance on safe work practices across all industries and oversees the model WHS Regulations for high riskwork.
- Workers' Compensation Policy section is responsible for developing national policy on workers' compensation and leading activities under the National Return to Work Strategy 2020-2030
- WHS Framework section is responsible for the development and oversight of national policy relating to the model WHS Act. The model WHS Act sets out the key principles and duties for WHS for most Australian workplaces, and the team also explores how the model WHS Act applies to non-traditional workplace settings.
