Information Sciences Division is seeking a deep thinker and software engineering expert to advance the state-of-the-art and state-of-the-practice with respect to intelligent, multi-agent software systems for cyber and electronic warfare. The applied specialist will contribute to the overall R&D vision of the Intelligent Agents discipline and undertake advanced software development activities to demonstrate exemplar Synthetic Intelligent Agent Platforms (SynIAPs) for decision superiority in contested, tactical information environments.In this role you will:
- Undertake advanced software development using the latest industry-standard tools and technology stacks, applying best-practices and rigorous quality controls;
- Guide and mentor a small team of software engineers;
- Engage with collaborators within DSTG, in academia, and in industry;
- Make a substantial contribution to the conceptualisation, design and implementation of technologies associated with computational intelligence, multi-agent coordination and cooperation, and system self-organisation paradigms; and
- Be able to make judgements about which technologies will have the greatest Defence impact.
The Cyber Command and Control (CyC2) STC conducts research and development of command and control (C2) technologies for fighting in and through the contested information environment, with a focus on applications of AI. CyC2 research themes include:
