Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.
A new role awaits
Join an energetic and innovative team as an EL1 Assistant Director in the Market Stewardship and Home & Living Group within the NDIA. In this role, you will provide invaluable support to team leaders across the portfolio aiding in the planning and coordination of the agencies strategic plan. The Market Stewardship and Home & Living Group leads the way in effectively managing our Partners in the Community and oversees the provider market. You will shape the strategic direction for the group, ensuring it align with our scheme’s objectives.

As an EL1 Assistant Director you will coordinate and execute important projects that have a strategic impact across the agency. As an efficient leader in the team, you will engage in significant projects, delivering exceptional outcomes that contribute to the agencies action plans and programs. You will have the opportunity to:
Contribute to project design, governance, and operational integration.
Undertaking budget management, monitoring expenditure and overseeing procurement and contract management activities
Develop, manage, and implement project plans in alignment with the Agencies project management framework.
Conduct research, review, and evaluate in specific portfolio areas.
Report project outputs to stakeholders and oversee regular reporting including status updates and exception reports.

You will have the ability to prioritise effectively, engage stakeholders, make informed decisions, and influence outcomes. Your work will encompass complex tasks requiring high attention to detail. You will problem-solve and approach tasks with a positive attitude navigating risks and issues. While this role is ideally performed from Geelong - VIC, Maroochydore - QLD or Port Adelaide - SA, remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months may be offered.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
