The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability.

Looking for a rewarding career journey in the field of finance? The Transformation Programs Branch is currently seeking to fill an EL1 Assistant Director Program Reporting Finance position, within the Integrity Transformation and Fraud Fusion Taskforce Group.

The Integrity Transformation and Fraud Fusion Taskforce Group works across the NDIA to collaboratively develop enterprise capabilities that optimise services whilst also ensuring the integrity of the Scheme. The Transformation Program Branch sits under the Integrity Transformation Division and is responsible to support the delivery of the Crack Down on Fraud Program, including coordinating program management, operations, governance and reporting, stakeholder engagement and change management. 

This job is being offered as either Professional Stream or General Stream. Mandatory Qualifications apply for the Professional Stream:
For applications within the professional job stream the successful applicant must possess and maintain relevant academic qualifications with membership of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA), Certified Practising Accountants (CPA) or other equivalent professional finance bodies (or holding equivalent finance related post graduate qualifications).

Where you can add value

The EL1 Assistant Director Program Reporting Finance will be working with central finance teams in maintaining program budget, forecasting, preparing financial reports, New Policy Proposal Costings, ICT Business Cases and creating financial plans. You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of tasks, including, but not limited to:

  • Developing external financial reports and dashboards to support rapid, on-demand reporting for program delivery.
  • Providing financial advice to the General Manager of Integrity Transformation and Program Board as required.
  • Developing and presenting a range of written financial and business documents, including correspondence, briefs, and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assisting in managing and negotiating vendor relationships and contracts, assessing vendor performance, and ensuring financial compliance.

You will have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including writing of executive briefs and technical accounting position papers. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months may be offered.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
