The ideal candidate for this role must possess and demonstrate experience in overseeing the strategic implementation of programs, ensuring ongoing effectiveness, and reporting on program performance. Additionally, expertise in managing operational, policy, procedural, and customer service initiatives related to service delivery programs and change initiatives is required. Engaging and communicating outcomes with Executive interdepartmental committees, as well as mapping business processes, and coordinating stakeholder engagement is essential. Furthermore, the ideal candidate should provide high-level program advice, strategic guidance, and interpretation to staff, develop and implement work area plans, and collaborate with program branches and government agencies. Strong written communication skills for preparing business cases, reports, executive briefs, and corporate documentation are crucial for success in this role.
Your new role
The EL1 Assistant Director will be required to action tasks including but not limited to…
- Oversee the implementation of programs administered by the agency and report on program performance to ensure ongoing program effectiveness.
- Manage the implementation of operational, policy, procedural, and customer service initiatives as they relate to service delivery programs and related change initiatives.
- Provide Secretariat services to multiple senior Executive interdepartmental committees, including planning, scheduling, briefing pack preparation, coordination on action items, etc.
- Map business processes, engage stakeholders, workshop process outcomes, and coordinate stakeholder input, ensuring the roll out of protocols across the Division.
- Negotiate, engage, and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver program services, build service delivery capability, and promote the agency’s services.
- Provide oversight of risk management across the Division, engaging with Branch representatives as required, mapping risk management activity, scheduling milestones, and planning.
- Build relationships with key customer cohorts, local community groups, third-party organisations, and networks, identifying opportunities for partnerships.
- Provide high-level program advice, procedural guidance, and interpretation to staff, including strategic advice to the Executive where appropriate.
- Develop and implement work area plans to meet demands and respond to change, providing strategic directions for the work area and allocating resources.
- Collaborate and build strong relationships with the agency’s program branches and key agencies at all tiers of government to support the efficient delivery of government services.
- Prepare a range of written materials, including business cases, reports, executive briefs, and corporate documentation.
