Key Responsibilities include;
- Preparation of quality financial statements
- Management of external audit activity
- Preparation of Portfolio Budget Statements
- Meeting external reporting requirements
- Oversight of accounting operations activities
- Taxation management and compliance
- Insurance management
- Development and implementation of accounting policy and procedures
- Contribute to projects and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ad hock tasks when required
You will likely be working for another Federal Government department in a Financial Accounting role. You will have a strong client focus and a commitment to continuous improvement.
You will have demonstrated ability to work as part of a small team, be well organised, be able to meet competing deadlines, and manage ones work with minimal supervision. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability produce management and executive reports and communicate technical issues to a range of stakeholders.
Previous experience in preparations of financial statements will be advantageous. You must be an Australian Citizen as a Baseline Security Clearance will need to be completed prior to starting the role.
We are working with a small Federal Government Agency in a centralised Canberra location. The agency undertakes critical work within the Commonwealth to ensure fundamental partnerships are continued.
