Federal Government agency seeking Research Ethics and Data Governance expert to join them on a temporary basis

This Federal Government agency leads and coordinates national improvements in healthcare safety and quality. 

Your new role 

This role is part of a team supporting implementation and management of research associated with the MedicineInsight data collection.

• Oversee the effective maintenance and implementation of the health Data Governance framework as it relates to the MedicineInsight data collection.
• Manage governance and ethics groups to ensure quality decision-making processes and peer review for uses of health data.
• Provide expert advice to stakeholders to support the success of the organisation's health data initiatives and be a source of information and advice for other teams in relation to privacy, Ethics and Data Governance issues and obligations. 
• Oversee the design and implementation of processes and systems that maximise access to data while maintaining relevant governance and ethics safeguards. 
• Identify, support and if necessary, escalate particular data use scenarios within Privacy Impact Assessments and in line with data breach reporting and contract management processes.
• Support the organisation’s privacy officer and contribute to privacy improvements activities across the organisation, such as planning, developing and implement staff training initiatives to ensure an integrated privacy, ethics, Data Governance and information management regime. 

What you'll need to succeed 

• An extensive and comprehensive understanding of Australia’s healthcare system, including sound understanding of current primary health care safety and quality issues and Research Ethics and Data Governance requirements.
• Extensive high-level health data Ethics and governance expertise including demonstrated experience in the design and implementation of Data Governance frameworks.
• Experience in delivering complex projects within a healthcare context. 
• It is a condition of engagement that staff have an up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination status.  

What you'll get in return 

This is a 12 month labour hire position commencing ASAP offering an attractive hourly rate. The team work flexibly, attending the office located in Sydney’s CBD 60% of the week.
