Job Opportunity: Security Infrastructure Project Manager
Company Requirement:
Our client, is seeking a skilled Security Infrastructure Project Manager with a strong background in project and construction management. The ideal candidate will have experience in project delivery and a thorough understanding of security measures in building projects. Commence July 2024.
Scope of Task:
The successful candidate must have expertise in contract administration, building regulation compliance, fee negotiation with specialist contractors, and budget management. The role requires the ability to manage projects both locally and remotely, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery while maintaining design integrity and full compliance with security regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, direction, and motivation to the project team.
- Ensure the deliverables meet the required quality standards.
- Manage project schedules and budgets to align with objectives.
- Integrate project management stakeholders through all five project phases.
- Liaise with project customers, stakeholders, and governance bodies to deliver the project.
Responsibilities Include:
- Engage with project stakeholders to achieve objectives.
- Manage project scope, risks, and stakeholder expectations.
- Oversee design and documentation through all project phases: Initiation, Design and Document, Delivery, Handover/Transition to Operations (HOTO), and Defects Liability Period (DLP).
- Manage project variations and maintain change control processes.
- Coordinate and prepare regular progress reports for key stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain project administration, document control, and record management systems.
- Prepare and update project documentation, including risk and communications plans.
- Manage project costs through budgeting, monitoring, and contingency planning.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards and assurance requirements.
- Coordinate with suppliers, consultants, and contractors as necessary.
- Maintain and regularly report on the project schedule.
- Manage risk processes, develop contingency plans, and escalate unresolved risks.
- Oversee handover and completion activities and documentation.
- Document lessons learned throughout the project.
- Ensure compliance with legislative obligations, such as Workplace Health and Safety Act and Disability Discrimination Act.
Required Skills:
- Ability to liaise with key stakeholders and develop project briefs for security upgrade projects.
- Experience in delivering construction and physical Security Infrastructure projects.
- Procurement management of consultants and contractors for security projects.
- Design review against project briefs.
- Review of design documentation for consistency and usability of security components.
- Ability to identify issues and re-prioritize tasks as needed.
- Conduct site visits as required.
- Development of statements of work for external contractors.
- Drafting of contract Work Orders.
- Strong understanding and monitoring of associated budgets.
Desirable Skills:
- Project management of security components as directed.
- Management of minor works and construction projects.
- Coordination of security-related fit-outs for domestic and international refurbishments and relocations.
- Development of Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) plans and Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
- Ensuring National Construction Code (NCC) compliance for DSD construction works.
- Review of design documentation and drawings for compliance with DFAT security standards.
- Review and update "as built" documentation and drawings.
- Review architectural and engineering designs issued by external entities.
- Management of project budgets and reporting to key stakeholders.
- Overseeing project handover and closeouts.
Security Clearance:
This is a security-designated position. The candidate must possess a current Australian Government Negative Vetting Level 2 Security Clearance prior to commencement.
Travel:
Domestic and international travel will be required according to the project schedule.
