The Opportunity
This role is being offered as a 12–18-month non-ongoing contract at a highly regarded national cultural institution with a great working culture. You will be working alongside a strong CFO and leadership team who encourage a collaborative work environment within the finance team and more broadly across the organisation.
The role with be focused in the management accounting space where you will be partnering with the more commercial aspects such as hospitality, retail and events. If you are coming from the private sector, the team have successfully transitioned a number of people so you will be well supported in your new role.
The Role
- Assist with developing and maintaining the long-term financial sustainability plan to support business strategy and vision, including analysis of business cases for new initiatives
- Manage and analyse data, business activity and performance indicators to deliver financial performance reports with insightful analysis
- Delivering relevant and timely financial reports for the senior executive
- Prepare the internal budgets, cost analysis and allocation of resources
- Provide commercial analysis and financial management of diverse sources of income
- Partner across the business areas, understanding key financial drivers and providing financial management support across the organisation
- Maintain the Central Budget Management System and contribute to costings and new policy proposals
- Prepare financial tables and analysis for the Portfolio Budget and Additional Estimates Statements for tabling in the Parliament
You are a clear communicator who enjoys working with others to kick goals. You are known for high attention to detail in your work and take pride in getting the job done to a high standard and on time.
You enjoy understanding and telling the story behind the numbers and you use your initiative to solve problems and add value. You will need to be CPA/CA qualified with a strong business accounting background and potentially some existing knowledge of government accounting frameworks however this is not a requirement.
You must be an Australian citizen and have a minimum baseline clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
Salary / Rate
- $104k - $118k + 15.4% Super
- 12 month non-ongoing contract
