Leading government organisation seeking a Chief of staff on an 18 month contract basis. In this role you will collaborate closely with the Chief Executive and Executive Leadership Team to drive organisational priorities and strategic plans. Key responsibilities:
- Providing high-level strategic support, advice and relationship management for the Chief Executive, ensuring they are well briefed on risks and issues.
- Working with a high level of autonomy and significant judgement, to progress strategic and operational initiatives, resolve issues and deliver quality outcomes.
- Preparing, coordinating and quality assuring complex and/or sensitive correspondence, corporate documentation, submissions, talking points, meeting briefs and other strategic communication and correspondence.
- Using the governance framework to work effectively with other business areas and the Executive Leadership Team.
- Fostering, engagement and managing relationships with key stakeholders to resolve complex or sensitive issues.
- Managing executive support staff within the Office of the Chief Executive.
- Overseeing, reviewing, revising and reporting on the functions, activities and efficacy of the Office of the Chief Executive.
- Fostering collaboration among teams to drive initiatives that require the involvement of multiple functions, ensuring seamless coordination.
- Promoting a positive workplace culture by actively instilling desired behaviours throughout the entire agency.
Essential requirements:
- A tertiary qualification relevant to the disciplines of public policy, business administration or governance is highly desirable
- High level written and verbal communication skills
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong organisational skills
- Experience in operating in a Chief of Staff role to a senior executive
- People management skills
Mandatory: Must be an Australian Citizen as a baseline security clearance is required.
The role will be offered as a non-ongoing engagement for up to 18 months or as a Section 26 transfer either ongoing (permanent) or non-ongoing (temporary), based in Sydney.
