Work on large new regulatory policy and legislation development for a central agency
Your new company
This department is the leading advisor on policy to ensure the government has effective management of the Australian economy. This team is responsible for the administration of a large act and the regulation functions surrounding the requirement for businesses to report on payment and financial agreements to government.
Your new role
Your new role will see you responsible for a major re-design and development of policy and regulatory frameworks for a government scheme, including legislation amendments from a recent government review of the scheme. You will take carriage of the following:
- Oversight and implementation of the legislative changes including operational readiness of the Regulator to transition to the new scheme.
- Stress test legislative amendments to ensure operational efficacy and efficiency.
- Lead consultation processes with other government departments and external stakeholders.
- Provide advice on ICT requirements to align with legislative changes, including establishing the systems requirements for case management.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be successful in this exciting and challenging new position, you will have the following:
- A background in government legislation development and experience in implementing statutory review actions.
- Experience of working with regulation and independent regulators.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and experience in government written materials.
- Demonstrated experience in an EL2 equivalent position within the APS.
As this position sits with the APS, you must be an Australian Citizen to be eligible to apply. You must also be able to hold and maintain a baseline clearance.
