Electoral Commission SA (ECSA) is seeking an Electoral Officer to join the team and contribute to the delivery of timely and efficient election services.
The Electoral Officer will support the delivery of parliamentary and local government elections by providing accurate and timely advice to stakeholders, following established procedures and processes and undertaking a range of administrative functions.
Reporting to the A/Team Leader, Elections key responsibilities will include:
- Contributing to the efficient and effective administration of election services by applying and being compliant with relevant legislation, election rules and established processes.
- Liaising with stakeholders and organise appropriate election procedures and requirements.
- Assisting with the development and review of forms, manuals and procedures.
- Assisting with, and conducting, information sessions and training programs for electoral officials and external parties.
- Maintaining election data and assist in the collation and production of statistics and/or reports following elections.
- Following project methodologies and timelines to achieve specific outcomes within budgetary constraints.
- Preparing regular, accurate and reliable reports on the status of the activities as it relates to the progress and performance of the election projects.
- This vacancy is offered on a term basis up to 31 July 2024.
- In order not to compromise the strict neutrality of the Commission, no person who is active in political affairs or intends to carry on this activity may be an employee.
- Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the Commission finds satisfactory.
- Extensive out of normal working hours duty may be required during the period of an election.
- Some interstate and intrastate travel may be required.
