Electrical Apprenticeship - Northern Operations Tronox
Programmed Skilled Workforce, in partnership with TRONOX to offer the opportunity to gain a national recognised qualification as an Electrical Apprentice (MEM31215 - Certificate III Industrial Electrician)

Tronox is a fully integrated titanium minerals producer and pigment manufacturer. At our operations in Western Australia, we extract and process rich mineral sands into a range of valuable products which are exported to international markets.
Our sites based in Kwinana, Chandala, Cooljarloo, Australind, North Shore and Kemerton are all within 2 hours drive of Perth as well as our Dry mill operation site Gingko based at the Murry Basin NSW. The sites form part of the global operations of Tronox Limited, one of the world's largest producers of titanium dioxide pigment, with a global customer base.
Locations you could be based at:
- Tronox Cooljarloo (Approx 166km from Perth CBD) - includes site accommodation for duration of roster.
OR
- Tronox Chandala (Approx 57km from Perth CBD)
Please note you may be required to rotate between the two locations of Chandala and Cooljarloo on an ad hoc basis and long-term periods which requires a commutable distance to Chandala daily and the ability to stay in camp accommodation in Cooljarloo
Who we're looking for:
- 1st Year Apprentice Cooljarloo (Commencement in February 2024)
- 1st Year Apprentice Chandala(Commencement in February 2024)
Rosters:
- Chandala roster Electrical Apprenticeship: 9 day fortnight, 10 hours, residential, commutable distance
- Cooljarloo roster Electrical Apprenticeship: 4/3, 12 hours, camp accommodation
It's important you're willing to learn and develop your skills over this apprenticeship and have a good attitude and strong work ethic. You will be willing to work as part of an experienced team, under close supervision and also at times independently.
In addition, you will;
- Have excellent communication, literacy and numeracy skills
- Have great attention to detail and good problem solving skills
- Have the ability to meet strict deadlines and cooperate with others
- Be punctual, reliable and presentable
- Demonstrate basic knowledge and understanding of relevant workplace health and safety requirements
- Have a current drivers licence and reliable transport
Skills and Experience:
To be successful, you will meet the following criteria:
- Completion of Secondary Schooling year 12
- Electrical Pre Apprenticeship or Electrical TA work experience (desirable)
- Have a good mechanical understanding and aptitude
- A current WA driver's licence and own transport
- Strong commitment to safety and driven work ethic
- The ability to pass a pre-employment medical and regular drug & alcohol screening tests.
- Motivated to pursue a career in the Electrical industrumentation
Location Information:
- Cooljarloo, approx. 170kms north of Perth TRONOX Cooljarloo mine focuses on heavy mineral concentrates using dredging. - Please note this position in the Cooljarloo are residential/local only however employee are also offered accommodation at the newly constructed mine's camp which is 10km south of the mine
- Chandala (Muchea), 60kms north of Perth TRONOX's Chandala Processing complex that includes a dry mill, a synthetic rutile plant and a residue management plant. The dry mill separates the heavy mineral concentrates into different products.Please note this position in the Chandala are residential/local only. No housing or housing allowance is offered as part of this position
