Sunrun Solar is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team and be a part of a positive team. The candidate must be self-motivated and must have extensive experience. There will be internal growth for the right candidate for the next step of their careers and we will provide all the necessary training.
You shall:
1. Provide an in-depth analysis of the customer's electricity consumption based on current electricity usage.
2. Design solar systems per the Clean Energy Council's guidelines using software like Pylon. Ensure all designs comply with AS/NZS 4777.2:2020 and AS3000 standards. Add annotations for inverter location, cable management, and DC string configuration.
3. Prepare the single-line diagram which includes the wiring between solar panels - inverter - batteries (in some cases) and switchboard.
4. Calculate and prepare AC and DC voltage drop during PV to comply with the AS/NZS 3008 standards and recommend cable sizes to meet compliance requirements.
5. Attend webinars from manufacturers to gain knowledge about new products.
6. Attend webinars organized by Energy Safe Victoria and other peak bodies of the electrical industry to enhance standards and knowledge.
7. Conduct internal technical training for the sales team on different products and their application based on customers’ requirements.
8. Provide level 1 troubleshooting to the customers and installers on-site before lodging support cases with manufacturers.
9. Design commercial projects (up to 100 kW) in software and improve the efficiency and voltage drop.
10. Help connect the inverters to the monitoring system through various communication methods like ethernet, and RS-485.
11. Maintaining and developing internal and external stakeholder relationships by supporting all key departments across the business.
You have:
Bachelor of Electrical Engineer
Clean Energy Council's Grid-Connected PV Designer
3+ years experience
Strong communication and time management skillset
High interest in working with new products, processes, tools, and technologies
Consulting experience is an advantage
Good background in AC and DC power solutions

$85k-90k salary + super
